This will be my first blog and hopefully the first new year resolution that I keep. My project for 2010 is to take a photograph a day. The objective of this project is to improve my photography skills and to document the year - a day at a time.

Day 2 - New Beginnings

It's another dreary day here with overcast skies and a very light drizzle. It's been like this since the day after Christmas. My backyard is looking mighty nasty with leaves from the fall littering the area and dead geranium and rose branches that are in desperate need of trimming. I managed to work up enough energy to clear out the dead branches and I've decided to leave the rest of the clean up for tomorrow.

With my chore behind me I thought I'd take my picture for today. Today's the last day for the "new beginnings" theme. When thinking about how I would capture this theme today, memories of childhood story books led me to this image idea.
